This game is basically a survival horror game, but with all of the puzzles taken out of it.
You play the part of Seth Gecko, set just after the film with the same name. You have been sent to jail for the murder of vampires that of course do not exist.
While waiting in your cell, a new group of prisoners are arriving on the floating tanker that has been converted into a prison. As the prisoners are being welcomed, they find that the new prisoners are vampires.
With most of the crew and prisoners turned into vampires, you must now try to escape the prison ship.
For the most part the game is set in third person mode, switching to first person shooter style at other points in the game, with up to 12 weapons to choose from, ranging from a handgun to a flame thrower.
The graphics in the game are very good, and the characters and the monsters in the game look fairly impressive as well.
The atmospheric music really adds to the game's scare factor, though a few more sound effects when shooting the vampires would have been nice.
As a game trying to get into the survival horror market, I think it fails on a few levels. For a start, rather than adding anything new to this style, they took out the usual puzzles and went for a straight shoot-em-up.
The other characters you interact with often get stuck behind each other or on the surrounding objects forcing you to reload.
Sadly, there's nothing here that's going to keep you coming back for more.
