NEW Earswick Swimming Club members qualified for 11 finals and four reserve finalist places at the annual Teaspoons Gala in Sheffield's Ponds Forge International Pool.
Tony Shaw collected teaspoons for his third place finishes in the 15 years and over 50 metres backstroke and freestyle finals in personal best times. He was also eighth in the breastroke medal.
A trio of 14-year-old girls also had a successful day with medals going to Nicola Howlett for fifth in the butterfly and eighth in the backstroke final; Lucy Gould was sixth and seventh in breastroke events, while Heather Welsh was fifth in the freestyle final.
Andrew Clapham, 12, was sixth in the backstroke final, and in the boys 13 years Mark Baldry collected a medal for eighth place in the freestyle. James Richards was eighth in the backstroke final.
Reserve finalist places went to Lucy Gould, James Richards, Mark Baldry and Tony Shaw.
Other swimmers posting long course personal best times were Jennifer Welsh (10yrs) Jenna Howlett and Sarah Beall (11yrs) Sarah Welsh and Emily Broadben t(12yrs) and Jason Milner(15+).
For 13-year-old Mark Baldry it was his second visit to the Sheffield pool in a couple of weeks, having competed in the Dukeries Open Meet when he was fifth in the breastroke and freestyle finals and sixth in the backstroke and butterfly finals with improved long course personal best times.
