ANNA Baxter, of York Railway Judo Club, really got to grips with the opposition at the recent Stockton Open Judo Championships.
The competition attracted many of the area's top players and she gained a bronze medal in the 36kg category and was named 'girl player of the day'.
Jamie Bunyan, one of the British Judo Association coached at York RI Judo Club said: "Anna trains very hard and enthusiastically for all her competitions. She is a very capable player and well deserves her recent accolade."
The club train at the RI gym in Queen Street and anyone wishing to join them should go to the gym on Monday and Friday evenings, 6.20pm for juniors or 8.20pm for seniors.
