THIS is the romantic and dramatic pure-silk creation which has won Andrea Bambridge of York the coveted Yorkshire Brides Designer of the Year.
Andrea designed it at her shop of the same name in Goodramgate and took two months to put it together.
She will receive the accolade at the finale of the two day Yorkshire Brides show at the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate on Sunday, October 7.
It beat dozens of designs submitted from all over Yorkshire.
Andrea (right) said: "It's really encouraging and rewarding for both myself and my staff of ten who were all involved."
The creation was inspired by the stage play. the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. "I made a costume for the White Witch for a Minster School production and it is a different discipline designing for theatre rather than commercially.
"But I so enjoyed the theme of a witch all in white who wants to turn everything into ice that I applied it to making a gown that could be worn at a real wedding and I suppose some of the Witch magic must have
rubbed off!"
Modelling it here is Louise Jefferson who works as a sales consultant at the distinctive shop which is part of the 14th century cluster of Goodramgate buildings called Lady Row.
The gown will sell at about £1,900 once it comes back from the show catwalk where a model will parade it on the presentation night.
