Pocklington hope to have key players Kevin Bowling and Mark Floyd back for their home Yorkshire One encounter with Pontefract tomorrow.

Fly-half Bowling returns after missing last week's game at Bridlington with a groin strain, but his regular half-back partner, Andy Kirby, is still out with a torn calf. Utility back Rob jackson deputises in the No 9 shirt.

In the pack, loose head prop and captain Floyd hopes to be able to lead Pocklington for the first time since damaging a rib in a pre-season trial match, while Steve Wilcock also returns after being at a wedding in Cyprus last weekend.

York visit West Park Bramhope in Yorkshire One with both teams hoping for a win that will take them back on the path to those heady days when they were competing against each other in North One.

York make only two changes to the team that beat Yarnbury in the NPI Cup last week.

Tom Hepplestone comes in on the wing in place of Rob Liddle and Simon Humphries replaces Nick Hare at prop.

Brad MacDonald, who last week scored one of the best solo forward tries seen at Clifton Park in recent years, retains his blind side flanker's berth with club skipper Jeremy Clutton on the bench.

Aussie centre Damon Smith, who is struggling to attain full fitness after an ankle injury, is also on the bench alongside last year's second team skipper Simon Thornton.

Dave Spanton, York's outstanding second row forward in their glory years, makes his return to York's colours in the second team, also against West Park Bramhope at Clifton Park.

Selby entertain Beverley in their first Yorkshire One home outing.

New captain Jason Cicero will be pleased to welcome back last season's skipper, Tommy Bayston, at hooker for his first run out of the season.

Injury at Scarborough two weeks ago is delaying Wright Phillips' return to action, so Selby experiment by moving right winger Mike Parsonage to blind side flanker.

Geoff Stier, returning from injury sustained in Selby's August Bank Holiday game at Workington, slots into the wing for the Parsonage.

Chris Hudson returns to York RI's line-up after missing the start of the season through injury.

He will partner John Alexander in the second row as RI travel to Hemsworth in search of Yorkshire Two points.

RI are still missing several key forwards and the unavailable Rod Simms joins the list of absentees this week.

After last week's tremendous win in the Junior Cup over Hull, Malton return to league duty with a Yorkshire Three home game against Roundhegians with spirits high. There are no major injury worries, but flanker David Cooke is unavailable and Carl Rushworth will rest his shoulder for a further week.

Jim Fisher returns to the second row allowing Richard Webster to move to Cooke's position at wing forward.

Andy Barker, after his man-of-the-match performance against Hull, remains in the front row.

Roundhegians were relegated from Yorkshire Two at the end of last season.

Harrogate are not being panicked into making changes after Saturday's defeat at Fylde and stick to the same starting line-up for the eagerly-awaited visit of North Yorkshire rivals Wharfedale to Claro Road.

Replacements will be decided after tonight's Georgians game at Wharfedale (kick-off 7.30pm), but there could be a place for Lundy Shackleton, scrum-half son of former England international Roger Shackleton. He has been in brilliant form in a side which has notched more than 200 points in three games.

First team manager Graham Siswick said changes in the line-up had been discussed but none would be made. "We have decided to give the guys a chance to put things right by getting back to the form they showed in the first two games.

"Conditions were atrocious at Flyde but we have to learn to adapt. It was disappointing, but we lost because we spilled too much ball and gave away too many penalties."

Wharfedale, like Harrogate, enjoy playing 15-man rugby and the game is expected to be fast and open. "We owe them one after last season's two defeats," said Siswick.

The two clubs are heading for another clash, this time in the Senior Cup. If Harrogate win at New Brighton on September 29 and Wharfedale are successful at Nuneaton, the pair will clash at Threshfield in the third round on October 13.

Meanwhile, two Harrogate "old boys", scrum half Guy Easterby and his back-row forward brother Simon, have been named in the Ireland team to tackle Scotland.

Both former Ampleforth College students now play in Wales with Llanelli. The duo are from Kirby Wharf, near Tadcaster.
