VICTORIA and David Beckham, Big Brother winner Brian Dowling and It Girl-turned-model Lady Victoria Hervey were expected to be among the famous faces at York-born designer Scott Henshall's show being held today as part of London Fashion Week.

Scott, 25, who still has family at Strensall and Sheriff Hutton, is a rising star in the fashion world. He already has his own label and is the creative director of English fashion house Mulberry.

This is his fourth collection for the prestigious London Fashion Week, which he reveals is on a theme of "peasant chic".

He said: "It's Stevie Nicks meets Woodstock: all lace and flowing skirts. There's some tassels too, so there's a bit of Dolly Parton going on, but it's still very English and sexy."

Scott - whose celebrity clients include Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham, Madonna and Kylie Minogue - reveals that Brian, the winner of Channel 4's Big Brother game show, will open the show and Victoria Hervey will be modelling.

The Beckhams will be in the audience - alongside two very special guests, Scott's parents, Mavis and Nigel.

"They come to all my shows and are more nervous than me," he says. "But they will have the best seats in the house, next to Posh and Becks."

Scott's clothes are stocked by Lynx Womenswear in Harrogate town centre.

See tomorrow's Evening Press for a colour preview of Scott's autumn fashions.
