AIRCREW veterans were out in force to hand over unique Second World War memorabilia.
Members of the Aircrew Association gave the items to the Yorkshire Air Museum, Elvington, in a special ceremony.
Irreplaceable objects such as wartime pilot log books, medals and photographs were presented to signify the setting up of the ACA Archive Trust.
Many more items, such as uniforms and personal memories, still lie with individuals who are part of the 10,000 strong association.
The new museum collection will ensure artefacts stay on public display.
And other memorabilia from more recent air campaigns is planned for the future.
Ian Richardson, press officer at the Yorkshire Air Museum said: "Lots of interesting things have been passed to us and it is a great honour.
"The Aircrew Association is very much a current organisation and this is a way of securing items for the future.
"The Archive Trust will provide a focal point for the gathering and recording of many more artefacts and information."
Yorkshire Air Museum is the only dedicated Allied Forces Memorial.
Visitors from around the world travel to see its unique collection of memorabilia from international aircrews.
