RACING tipster John McCririck will not faces charges over an alleged incident at York Races last month, police confirmed today.
The Crown Prosecution Service has decided that no action will be taken against the Channel Four racing pundit over a claim that he assaulted 55-year-old security guard Jan Cole.
Mrs Cole, a grandmother of 20, made a complaint to police at the racecourse, claiming 61-year-old Mr McCririck shoved her through a fire door when she asked him for accreditation to get into a restricted area.
Mr McCririck was later questioned about the incident by North Yorkshire Police.
A force spokesman said: "The CPS has returned the file recommending no further action be taken."
The incident happened on the third and final day of the Ebor meeting.
