EXPORTERS in York are gearing up for a heated debate on the euro.
The debate, which will be held at the Merchant Adventurers' Hall in York a week tomorrow, is being organised by the York and North Yorkshire Export Club.
"No" campaigner Stuart Archbold, chairman of the Yorkshire-based Archbold Freightage, will share a platform with exporter and euro supporter Hugh Morgan Williams, chairman of the Canford Group plc, Tyne and Wear.
The euro debate is the first in a calendar of events organised by the York and North Yorkshire Export Club.
Its chairwoman, Lesley Batchelor, said: "The debate promises to be lively and thought-provoking. The euro is affecting more and more exporters in the lead up to next January, when we will see notes and coins on mainland Europe. We wanted to offer members a balanced discussion and examination of this crucial issue."
For more information about the debate, which will start at 6pm, phone Lesley Batchelor on 01904 785667.
