Aimed mainly at youngsters, this game turns Darth Maul into a cute midget with a giant head.
Based on the Mario Kart formula, you get Anakin, Obi-Wan, Yoda, etc, racing around Star Wars 1 locations and battling it out for a win using an array of power-ups.
Sounds good? Unfortunately, this game has the playability of Jabba the Hutt riding a moped.
The tracks are interesting enough, with alternative routes etc, and the action is quite fast and furious. What is more furious is the gameplay, as whether you win a race is more based on luck than skill because you can race the same track twice and with a similar performance come first or last.
You can get bumped into by an opponent and while you spin off, he speeds away... but if you do the reverse, nothing happens!
Multiplayer is a saving grace, because four can battle it out, but this is just another sub-standard Mario Kart clone with the Star Wars franchise thrown in.
