Phew! I've only just got my breath back.
Racing is hard work as I discovered this week when I made my long awaited debut at Newcastle.
I had a really good horse talk with my rivals before the race. A lot of them were saying how nice I looked with my mane all plaited up, sheepskin noseband and the smart Evening Press rug on my back. Some of the more experienced ones reminded me though that it was not a beauty contest and gave me a few racing tips.
Unfortunately, I was still mulling over what they had said to me when the starting gates flew open.
Blimey they all charged off as quick as you could say 'Blazing Saddles'.
I was so startled that I forgot to set off but my jockey Paul Fessey gave me a gentle reminder that we were there to race.
I thought 'I'll catch you lot up' and started to stretch out and shot through from last place to ninth of the 16 runners.
I could have kicked myself for such a slow start but next time I'll be ready for them.
Trainer Tim Etherington seemed fairly pleased with me considering that it was my first crack at the "Sport of Kings".
He keeps calling me 'green' but I reckon he might be going a bit colour blind because every time I look in my stable mirror I'm definitely a bay coloured filly.
Although it was hard work I really enjoyed it and can't wait to get back on the track.
I'm sure I'll improve now that I've got that first run under my saddle and I reckon I'll have a couple more outings before the end of the season.
Anyway, keep checking my namesake newspaper for the latest news about yours truly. And I'll keep you up to date with all the latest from Wold House Stables.
Talk to you next week.
