YORK City manager Terry Dolan has seconded young wing wizard Marc Salvati to the first team ranks for the first time ahead of tomorrow's home encounter with Luton Town.
The City chief this morning drafted third year trainee Salvati into the squad with Christian Fox also a notable addition.
Dolan, despite yet to announce his starting line-up for the visit of the Hatters, has also indicated he could be prepared to hand a starting debut to Dutchman Michael Evans.
The 25-year-old caught the eye when he came off the bench during last week's 4-0 defeat at Hull City and boosted his match fitness with a 45 minute appearance for the reserves in midweek.
Although Evans made a name for himself in Dutch football as a striker, it is understood if he does start tomorrow he will likely come in on the right side of midfield.
"The reserves games he has featured in he started up front but he can play wide on the right as he did last week when he came on at Hull, where I thought he looked quite useful," said Dolan.
Middlesbrough-born Salvati, 18, was previously on the books at Manchester United and has been spoken about in glowing terms at Bootham Crescent for some time.
Predominantly a right winger, he can also play as a striker, a role he filled for the reserves in their 2-1 defeat at Darlington in midweek.
"Marc has been doing well in the juniors and he gives us options down the right hand side and up front," explained Dolan.
"Alex Mathie is not ready yet, Scott Emmerson is still injured and with us looking at the possibility of playing Michael Evans down the right Marc gets the chance to come into the squad."
Should Dolan plump for Evans it seems likely Richard Cooper will make way.
Even though he will start on the bench, the sight of Fox back in the senior squad fold for the first time since January's 3-0 defeat at Barnet is a massive boost for City.
Dolan, who spent a couple of days in Scotland this week on scouting missions, said: "He played his first full 90 minutes for a long time on Wednesday so we are just introducing him back into the squad.
"He is certainly not ready for 90 minutes just yet."
Despite last week's 4-0 defeat at Hull and the change in personnel, Dolan is resisting the temptation to tinker with City's formation and will be sticking by 4-4-2.
"It wasn't the formation that lost us the game at Hull," said the City boss.
