NORTH Yorkshire holidaymakers trying to get to and from the stricken United States were facing more delays today.
Planes remain grounded in both America and Britain as the two countries struggle to come to terms with Tuesday's terrorist strikes on New York and Washington.
America closed its air space in the wake of the atrocity and today travellers in both nations faced another day of cancellations and delays.
At Manchester Airport, a spokesman said about 15 flights had been cancelled, yesterday, following events in America.
He added: "Passengers with reservations on flights from Manchester to the USA are advised to contact their airline or tour operator for the most up-to-date information."
Security remains high at the airport and passengers intending to travel are being urged to keep luggage to an absolute minimum.
The tragedy has left a number of British holidaymakers trapped in America. Dave Jopling, director of Corporate Travel International, in Skeldergate, York, said he still had clients stranded in the United States.
Mr Jopling said: "As far I know, my clients are still in the America. It's wait and see as far we are concerned. We are in the lap of the gods as to when the air space is opened."
A spokesman for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office has advised travellers to America to check with operators to ensure flights are still scheduled.
He said: "Following the terrorist attacks there may be heightened tension and disruption worldwide."
And a spokesman for travel agent Thomas Cook added: "Passengers planning to fly to the United States need to get in touch with their travel agents for advice."
People worried about UK friends or relatives in the United States should contact (020) 7008 0000.
