INL Dawn Raiders lifted the League Trophy at the York CIU Race Walking Presentation night.
The team was represented by Dave Long, Rob Gilroy, Bert Angus, Mick Hodgson and Mark Bryne. Runners up were Groves Concords and in third position Huntington Allstars.
Top veteran of the season was Groves Boby Grayson while joint second were Dave Long and Wally Johnson. Tang Hall's Johnson managed to gain the 'Guy Mitchell' award for the six best results outside the top three clubs.
Paul Morgan (Huntington) took the individual points championship by taking it ahead of Bob Grayson and Stuart Wilkinson (South Bank).
Ellis Pickering (South Bank) was voted by his rivals as the walker of the year while the judges choice went to Tang Hall's Sean Martindale.
In the 10th Championship race at South Bank Graham Jackson (Huntington) was first over the line. The handicap winner was Poppleton Road's Phil Holdsworth taking the 'Jim Jackson' Trophy. Team prize went to the host team of Martin Fisher, Stuart Wilkinson and Kev Goodwin.
Seven Toe and Heelers competed in all the league races, these being Bob Grayson and Norman Coley (Groves), Wally Johnson and John McClure (Tang Hall), Stuart Wilkinson (South Bank), Mark Bryne (INL) and Paul Morgan (Huntington) who won the recent Ken Rowntree Memorial Race in 60-54.
