Local division three rivals were in opposition at Malton with promotion awaiting the winners.
Visiting Hovingham took first innings and suffered as Wayne Dawson captured 5 for 53. Richie Brown made 41 but lacked effective support and saw his side bowled out for 130.
Hovingham's bowlers worked hard to salvage the game and captured half the home wickets but Malton were taken to promotion in their first season in the League by Lester Parkin (25) and Gary Hall (44) as Malton won by five wickets without having to rely on the Johnson brothers.
A depleted Hornsea side travelled to Londesbrough Park safe in the knowledge they had already taken the divisional honours.
In the absence of the division's top two batsmen, Mike Johnston and Paul Clappison, Richard Medforth assumed the role of opening batsman and batted throughout to score his first York League century. He successfully negotiated a drink's break presentation ceremony as Hornsea skipper Dave Prescott received the York & Ainsty Builders Trophy from the League secretary to move to an unbeaten 125.
Richard Webster also passed his previous highest score as Hornsea moved to 223-3.
In Park's drawn total of 142-7, John Williamson and Stuart Craven each made 28 before skipper Phil Curtis batted out for 29.
The Bolton Percy versus Cawood game was a match where the loser was doomed to relegation.
Bolton, batting first, were soon in trouble as they slipped to 23-3 before Peter Houseman and Jamie Rigby took the score to 99. Rigby went on to make 62 in Bolton's 171-9.
When Cawood batted only Stuart Baxter (31) made a mentionable score. Martin Pears, with 3-37, and Nick Lister (4-34) did sterling work for the hosts.
However, a boundary struck off the third ball of the final over saw Cawood win by one wicket to lift them six points ahead of Bolton who suffered the agony of ending in the third relegation spot.
Rock bottom Osbaldwick were given a severe mauling at New Earswick where they plunged to their 14th defeat with a 129-run deficit.
Earswick's batsmen made hay in the late season sunshine with Andy Freeman cracking 95, Peter Stimpson 65, Kev Barker 26 and skipper James Routledge an unbeaten 26 before he made a declaration after 42 overs with Earswick having reached 250-4.
Martin Hewitson then took 4-44 and there was a first league wicket for junior player Anthony Freeman as Osbaldwick fell to 121 all out.
Selby had the consolation of ending their relegated season with a 28-run victory over Heworth who were dismissed for 119 by Richard Laycock's 4 for 11.
Selby made a first innings total of 147 with Steve Whisker making 50, Ian Lake 49 and skipper Phil Jolly 25no.
Dan Walton took 3 for 10 for Heworth, while Dave Bell foll owed with an undefeated 46.
