Huntington's Steve Beales ended an amazing season with another astonishing display to send Dunnington ll plunging to a massive 184-run defeat in division four.
Beales started the day with 83 wickets, needing five more to create a new divisional record and eight to create a new record for the whole league.
While the latter proved to be a target too far, Beales was able to take his name to the top of the divisional list when he claimed five wickets for just three
runs.
This performance was all the more remarkable because the three runs conceded came in three separate overs and represented the only three scoring shots in an 18-over spell that included 15 maidens.
Wally Baynes again provided the supporting act with good figures of 4 for 34 in 17
overs as Dunnington were dismissed for just 37.
Huntington's innings had been in direct contrast. Len Watson made 69 and Brian Pudsey 25 as Adam Holroyd claimed 3 for 38 but Rob Kettlestring then hit 77no enabling a declaration at 221-5.
Yapham received their division four divisional trophy having restricted bottom placed Thorp Arch & Boston Spa to 139-6. Youngster Mike Cole reached a good 50no by nurdling the final delivery of the innings for a leg-side single.
Yapham then lost three wickets but any chance of an upset was wiped away by a fourth-wicket stand of 97 between Paul Barnes, who made 38, and Tim Lazenby, who was unbeaten with 57, when Yapham won to notch their 13th win of the term and inflict a 15th defeat on Thorp Arch.
Dringhouses II completed a good day for the club when they had a 16-run victory at Acomb to complete a Houdini-type escape as they ended their season two points ahead of Thirsk.
Geoff Smith made 27 out of Dringhouses' 128-8. Dave Stroughair took 3-15 and Andy Harris 3 for 17.
John Renshaw played the best innings of the game when he made 41 in Acomb's reply but Gary Wiston bowled an impressive spell to take 5 for 21 and, with Dave Todd's 3 for 37, Acomb were out for 112.
Thirsk paid the penalty for dismissing Carlton Towers too cheaply in a match played at Harome due to Thirsk races. Andrew Chandler gave a splendid
performance as he claimed 8 for 51 and Carlton were dismissed for the dreaded Nelson with only Jonathan Dilks (29) making a reasonable contribution to their 111 all out.
Thirsk recorded a comfortable eight-wicket win through John Harper 63no and Glen Palliser 32. They must have wished for a larger target so that further batting points could have been earned.
Huby stalwart Colin Piercy hit a century at Sheriff Hutton, making 107 as he helped opener Darren Howell (82) add 171 for the third wicket.
Sheriff's Tony Fisher had 3-53 in nine overs as Huby made 243-6.
Sheriff Hutton then replied with 179-8 through Andrew Johnson 49 and 15-years-old Andy Franks, who made a steady 33.
