TV VET Trude Mostue was reunited with an old friend when she returned to North Yorkshire to open a new surgery.
A former patient, a sulphur- crested cockatoo, was on hand to welcome Trude when she turned out to open the new Battle Flatts branch surgery, in Pocklington.
Vet Matt Brash and Trude, star of fly-on-the-wall documentary Vets In Practice, are former colleagues and Matt, 37, said he was delighted she could appear at his new Kilnick Road practice.
"Trude and I are good friends so I was delighted when she opened the surgery," he said.
"She did promise me she would at the beginning of the year, and she stayed with my family at the weekend.
"It was a great turn-out on Saturday, a lot of people, especially children, came to see her.
"She was great and talked to every single person. Everyone felt that they knew her. I don't know how she does it."
