NORTH Duffield clinched promotion from division three of the Horwath Pulleyn Heselton York Vale League by a single point from Escrick Park.
Both sides won their final games with Duffield beating Burn by 72 runs and Park winning at Melbourne by 110 runs.
Champions Copmanthorpe had a comfortable eight-wicket win over Ben Johnson.
Division two champions Drax lost their final game at home to Clifton Alliance and will be joined in the first division next season by York Post Office who took maximum points from their game at Westow, who are now relegated along with Kelfield who lost at Thixendale.
Burythorpe suffered only their second defeat of the first division season when Burn beat them by six wickets. York are runners up with Ovington in third spot. Hemingbrough, having won their final game, avoided relegation for the first time in fours years. Stamford Bridge and Heworth are the clubs who go down.
University of York Staff join Tollerton in promotion from the fourth division. Selby pulled of a surprise win at Burton Salmon to keep their place whilst Heworth and Bishopthorpe were relegated.
Tadcaster Magnets and Wistow are the two promoted sides in division five.
York finish third after extracting maximum points from their game against Pocklington.
Copmanthorpe moved off the bottom after beating Thorpe Willoughby by six wickets leaving Wheldrake bottom of the pile.
