For an hour Pocklington competed well in an even encounter with Old Brodlieans.
But an horrendous run of injuries left them decimated in the final quarter and they crashed to a 34-10 defeat.
Pocklington had the territorial advantage without creating chances for the first quarter. Brodlieans then opened the scoring with their first attack, darting over from a quick penalty.
They extended their lead with a controversial try while Pock were temporarily down to 14 men through injury.
But Pocklington came back strongly and a powerful forward drive brought a try for No 8 Adam Spencley, Kevin Bowling converting from the touch-line.
Pocklington pressed again after the break and a Bowling penalty took the gap to just two points. Another Pocklington attack handed Brodlieans a gift score from a long range interception try, but Pock were still well in contention at the hour mark.
However, they lost scrum half Andy Kirby with a torn calf and full back Mark Taylor to have eight stitches in a head wound, with three more players reduced to virtual passengers.
It left them with only 12 fit men and with two forwards out of position in the three quarters. The gaps were bound to follow and three times in the closing minutes Brodleians cut through to cement a big win.
