LEE Nogan believes fearless York City can tame the Tigers tomorrow to kick-start what could be a defining few weeks for the Minstermen.

City begin a gruelling schedule of six games in 21 days with tomorrow's testing derby duel at big-spending Hull City.

In their next three games after Boothferry Park, City also face promotion candidates Bristol Rovers and Luton.

While anxious not to infer it was make or break for City at such an early stage of the season, Nogan conceded it promises to be an important next few weeks.

"It is a big month and a big test for us really," admitted the 32-year-old.

"If we can do what we have done in the first month of the season then it will be great for the lads and confidence will be buzzing

"It will show our character and what we are up against.

"I have said all along there is nothing to fear. As long we started all right and got the confidence going then we would have no problems.

"If anyone had said at the start of the season we could have three wins from five we would have been more than pleased.

"It is a massive test for us on Saturday and with all the games coming up, but we are more than capable."

Nogan admitted he was relishing playing before an expected crowd of around 12,000 and it made a welcome change for City to be playing in a big game for the right reasons.

Last season, City travelled to Hull still seeking points to secure their League status. This time three points could move City into a top five position and lift them four points clear of Hull.

"We have had a good start which helps," said Nogan.

"It means we can go there in confident mood."
