GOOD looks and a bubbly personality have given two modelling hopefuls from York the chance of a career on the catwalk.
Student Rowan Wallace-Hill, 18, of Huntington Road, and Lindsay-Ann Hodgson, 23, of Holgate, beat off stiff competition to each be crowned the Face of Edwards York 2001.
The pair had competed against 18 other finalists selected from over 50 entrants in a modelling competition organised by Edwards, of George Hudson Street, York.
Both winners took home an Edwards VIP pass, a bottle of champagne and a certificate, and they will automatically be entered in the National Face of Edwards competition - with the chance of a contract from the Storm modelling agency.
Rowan said: "I was approached by the Edwards Talent Squad who encouraged me to enter the competition, I'm glad I did now. I honestly didn't expect to win, I was really shocked, but really happy."
Lindsay-Ann, who works as a supervisor for Card Protection Plan, said: "My dream is to get into modelling. For as long as I can remember I've wanted to be a model so this is like my dream coming true."
National competition winners will receive £1,000, plus a make-over and photoshoot with Toni and Guy and a photoshoot with Celebrity Looks magazine to appear in its January issue.
Their images will also appear on the Edwards Christmas poster campaign.
