DR Derek Collinson has resigned as a director of York Wasps Rugby League Club.
Lifelong Wasps fan Collinson, who is also the club's doctor, joined the board in 1999.
The club has no plans to recruit another director at this stage.
Chief Executive Ann Garvey said: "I think he has done an excellent job for the club and he will be sorely missed, particularly by myself , and I am sure the other directors feel the same.
"He has done a lot of hard work for the club and I am very sorry that he has had to resign."
Meanwhile, back Sean Austerfield has indicated that he will be re-signing for the club shortly and Garvey is confident she can persuade forward Mick Hagan to follow suit.
Wasps are also hoping to sign up Acadmey skipper Danny Brown, a 17-year-old second row forward from the Hull area.
