A NORTH YORKSHIRE mother whose daughter died in a car crash is hoping to raise money for a young people's charity.
Alix Potter, 19, died when the car she was driving and another vehicle collided on the A169 between Pickering and Malton early on Saturday morning.
Her mother, Sallie, has asked for wellwishers who may send flowers to instead donate money to the Prince's Trust.
Sallie, a nursery nurse at Malton Community Primary School, said Alix would have supported the charity.
"It is helping the youth of today and it is a big support to those in need," she said.
A collection will also be held at the funeral service.
The service will be held at All Saints' Church, Kirkbymoorside, at 2pm on Friday.
Alix's family has been inundated with flowers, cards and phone calls since the tragic accident.
The Prince's Trust helps people aged from 14 to 30 to develop confidence, learn new skills and get into work.
A spokesperson for the trust said: "We are touched that the family has thought of the Prince's Trust as this difficult time.
"These donations will be helping young people and some hope can come from this tragic event."
Donations can be sent to: Jo Boothroyd, The Prince's Trust, 18 Park Square East, London, NW1 4LH.
