Heworth turned in an inspirational performance to extend their stirring start to their National Conference League second division campaign.
The Black and Whites routed visitors Hunslet Warriors 30-18 with Dave Carling's kicking accuracy a telling factor.
He sent over no less than seven goals, including six penalties, to ensure that Heworth always held the upper hand.
Heworth's intention to notch a second successive victory was served as early as the fourth minute when prop Steve Barnard barged his way over for the opening try.
Carling's first conversion attempt missed the target, but from then on he was a master of the boot.
He added three unanswered penalties beforee centre Sam Clarke notched the second try to put the hosts 14-0 up at the half-time break.
The start of the second-half mirrored that of the first as Barnard's power and anticipation got him over the line for another fine try, which was converted by Carling.
It was then that Hunslet finally woke from their slumbers and exerted pressure oin the Villagers' punctured the home defence. Peter Thornton touched down twice, both tries goaled by Dean Creaser.
But Heworth refused to be knocked out of their stride.
Brendan Carlyle, the former York Wasps' stalwart, scurried through to put Nikki Wilson over for a decisve fourth try.
The Warriors were last on the scoresheet with an injury-time try from Bryn Powell, but it was not enough to halt the Heworth advance to maximum points.
Selby Warriors got off the the worst possible start in their Yorkshire League division three campaign when they lost 16-6 at Hunslet Old Boys.
Wayne Fennell put Selby ahead with a fifth minute penalty but things went disastrously wrong after that.
Both Fennell and wing man Lee Parker were sent off after a flare-up and the home side took advantage to score twice before half-time to lead 12-2.
Things got worse for Warriors as stand-off Wayne Knight had to go off with a head injury.
Battling Selby reduced the arrears with a Colin Barker try after good work by Mark Hanson and Sean Barker.
Selby, despite their numerical disadvantage, were camped on the Hunslet line for 20 minutes but could not grab the vital score and Hunslet broke away to score and make the game safe.
Prop Andy Rowe and Richard Burden were outstanding for Selby, who entertain Queenswood next Saturday (2.30pm).
York Groves suffered a double late lapse to crash in their Pennine League division four debut.
Groves were seemingly in the comfort zone leading their Birkenshaw visitors 17-10 going into the last quarter of the tussle.
But then Birkenshaw took advantage of defensive slackness with two late unconverted tries to snatch the points 18-17.
It was all so unexpected given the gritty reply from Groves to the game's opening try converted by the visitors to give them an early lead.
They levelled the score with a fine try from full-back Adie Beales, John Thompson tacking on the extras.
Man-of-the-match Thompson added an unconverted try, though Birkenshaw replied in kind to make it 10-10.
Just before half-time new signing Logan surged through for Danny Buy to score, Thompson converting and soon after adding a dropped goal.
But then came that late, late fall.
