NESTLE Rowntree's hopes of reclaiming their West Yorkshire League Premier Division title were given a double boost at the weekend.
'Trees, who lost to Ripon City Magnets in midweek, bounced back quickly to pick up three much needed points with a 3-2 victory at Pudsey.
Goals from Neil Durkin, former York RI player Colin Raynor and Steve Wilby secured the points for Nestle.
After savouring victory, Rowntrees weekend got better with the news their biggest rivals and reigning WYL champions Cartlon Athletic could only earn a point after being held to a 2-2 draw by Whitkirk Wanderers.
Sal Njie also ensured Knaresborough Town did not return from Armley Athletic empty handed by levelling the score after David Hewson had put the home side in front.
In Division One, York RI enjoyed a moral boosting 6-2 thumping of Rothwell Athletic.
