IN response to your report about the nightmare journey of a Malton family on the A64 I am amazed that the AA spokesman regards this as a very rare occurrence.
I suspect that most of your readers would report being the victims of intimidating and aggressive driving on a daily basis.
A number of drivers seem to be programmed to break speed limits wherever possible, and bully along those road users travelling at reasonable speeds by driving up their back bumpers.
In view of the death and carnage which occurs weekly on the roads of North Yorkshire, and the unenviable statistics of the highest road casualties in the country, why don't the police and the local authorities take positive pre-emptive action?
Why are the police not interested in the installation of speed cameras? Other forces have shown that they drastically reduce casualties in accident blackspots.
And of course, motorists should remember that they are driving lethal weapons which can kill and maim.
