BUTCHER Tony Neary has carved up a treat for York City's latest crop of talented youngsters.
Neary, who runs his butcher's shop just a stone's throw away from Bootham Crescent in Clifton, has sponsored the club's under-16 team for the coming season.
City's head of youth development, Paul Stan-cliffe, said: "It is a tremendous gesture from Tony and we are grateful for his help and support."
The youngsters kick-start their campaign a week on Sunday in what promises to be an important year for the teenagers.
"From this batch of youngsters we will be hoping to take on our youth trainees for next season," explained assistant youth coach Brian Neaves.
"This will be their last season as part of our Centre of Excellence and hopefully quite a few of them will earn scholarships."
