THE vital last fixture in the BARLA County Championship 2001 sees Yorkshire travel to Lancashire tomorrow aiming to seal the title.
However, all three counties in the competition, the other being champions Cumbria, are still in the reckoning for the title, making the match on Sunday even more nailbiting.
Cumbria beat Lancashire but lost to Yorkshire last weekend at New Earswick All Blacks' White Rose Avenue ground, and need a Lancashire win, but not by more than 17 points.
A bigger margin of victory would give Lancashire the title, while a draw or Yorkshire win would see the White Rose side become champions.
Heworth star Dan Briggs made his county debut last week in Yorkshire's 10-6 win, being the only York-based player on view. The squads for Sunday's match are yet to be announced.
Manager and Yorkshire chairman Spen Allison is from York, and coaches Paul Higgins and Alfie Hill are both with York Acorn.
The match is at Blackbrook ARLFC, kick off 2.30pm.
