ARMED police were called to an East Yorkshire farmhouse after reports of shotgun fire.
Police officers tried to approach a man at the farmhouse at Airmyn, near Goole, but he allegedly shut himself in with his 12-year-old son.
After several hours, the siege came to a peaceful end, and officers began to search the house for any sign of firearms.
They recovered a shotgun and cartridges from a vehicle on the farm.
Police stressed that before going into the house, they did not know if there was a gun in the house, and if there was, whether it had been discharged or not.
The alarm was raised at 3.45pm yesterday, and the incident ended at 9.15pm.
- A man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
