TRAIN driver Stephen Dunn, tragically killed in the North Yorkshire rail disaster, is to have a locomotive named after him.
At a private ceremony on Saturday, Freightliner Heavy Haul Ltd will name a new Class 66 locomotive the Driver Stephen Dunn (George).
Friends and colleagues knew Stephen, a 39-year-old father of two and devoted railwayman from Brayton, near Selby, as George.
Locomotive 66526 will be named by his two sons, Andrew and James, and his widow, Mary.
The ceremony will take place at British Energy's coal-fired power station in Eggborough.
Stephen had been driving his coal train to Ferrybridge when it struck a derailed GNER passenger train head-on. Ten people were killed in the tragedy on February 28 this year.
