BUS service managers were today waiting to discover if York drivers have voted to call off strike action.
A ballot of First York drivers was due to close this afternoon.
It will decide if the drivers accept a last-gasp pay deal offered in an effort to stave off industrial action.
The offer was made after drivers gave massive support for striking in protest at an earlier pay deal offered by the company.
Transport and General Workers' Union leaders has advised members to accept the latest offer.
