HOMES in York are increasingly becoming out of reach to all except high earners.
The falling stockmarket prompts these people to invest in a second home.
How do they get their returns? By taking money from those low earners who can't afford to buy homes because prices have risen out of all proportion because of investors.
This Catch-22 situation will continue until City of York Council increases the availability of affordable homes.
