Hull Zingari clinched promotion from division two in their first season in the league when they had the better of a draw at Bubwith.

Dave Stevenson posed problems for the leaders as he claimed 5 for 56 to help dismiss Hull for 153. Mike Knowles (35) and Damon Rowan (30) were Zingari's better batsmen. The second half of the game then saw Bubwith linger to 76 for 8 as Mark Beddes (3-22) and Kev Deighton (3-14) kept them on a short rein.

Rowntrees batsman Richard Tuite clocked his ninth league century as he shared an opening stand of 149 with Gerry Capelin who had made 44 when he was lbw to Alex Livie.

Tuite soon followed when he was bowwled by Livie for 112 at 168 for 2 but further runs came from Sean Marshall (25) as Rowntrees reached 231 for 6, Livie emerging with 4 for 43 off ten overs.

Service then lost both their openers with only six runs on the board and continued to struggle as Paul Horner claimed 4 for 50 in 17 overs. Mike Robinson made 26 before he fell to a Tony Thomson catch off Barry Steel but seven wickets were down for 66.

Dennis Wray (16) and Mick Bradley (24) restored some pride with an eighth wicket stand of 45 but both were bowled by Tuite who took two wickets for one run in his solitary over to have a ten-man Service side all out for 112.

Clifton Alliance moved out of the third relegation spot when they sent Whitkirk into freefall with a six-wicket win.

A good stand between Mark Murphy (60no) and Tony Walker (36no), added to Tom Clark's 26, enabled Whitkirk to make a respectable 184 for 7 despite Kev Ambrosen's 3 for 45 and Dave Heartshorne's 3 for 17. Nathan Briggs then hit 76 and, with John Gilham making 28 not out, Clifton gained their win at 188 for 4.
