Hornsea's celebrations on winning division three were put on ice when Woodhouse Grange's last pair denied them the extra three points that would have clinched the title.
Aussie Michael Johnston (27) edged nearer the 1,000-run mark, while opening partner Paul Clappison added 38.
Grange's Russell Bilton turned in one of his best displays with 8 for 88 but could not stop Hornsea taking full batting points against Richard Webster (25) and Dave Prescott (62).
Bilton (37) top scored for Grange, while Mark Burton hit 27. Ian Clappison took 4 for 25 and Johnston 2 for 4 in nine overs but could not get the final wicket as Grange hung on at 116 for 9.
A thriller saw promotion chasing Malton & Old Malton tie with relegated Selby on 189 for 8.
Foror Selby were Mal Bowden made 51, Graham 36 and Steve Spence (48) with Wayne Dawson claiming 4 for 79.
Malton again relied on a Johnson for most their runs with Greg obliging with 83. Kev Lund (6-50) kept Selby's spirits alive but Dave Bonsor (25no) saw Malton level.
A disappointing display by relegation threatened Bolton Percy saw them swap places with Heworth, who had the better of a draw.
Joe Johnson made 43 and Dave Bell 31 as Nick Lister (4-42) helped to control Heworth at 169 for 9. Jamie Rigby made 43 for Bolton but had little support as Jerry Dunnington (3-39) had the hoosts tottering at 129 for 9.
Hovingham maintained their challenge for the second promotion place by beating Cawood, who are currently on course for relegation, by 75 runs.
Nick Elliott had reached 89 no t out when his captain called a halt at 244 for 5, earlier runs having come from Mark Aconley (47) and Paul Ryan (45). Cawood were felled for 169 by Richie Brown (3-30) with Simon Hall (48) top scoring.
Osbaldwick's dismal season continued when they slipped to defeat at Londesbrough Park after being dismissed for 158. Marcus Hollis tried to lift his side as he made 41 and took 3 for 58 but Nick Owen, (3-17) and Phil Curtis (3-48) ensured that Park's target was comfortably within range. In reply John Williamson hit 46, George Drury 27 and Chris Barlow 46 not out as Park won by five wickets.
Heslington reached 72 for 2 at New Earswick as John Myers made 26 and Rob Cockerill 25 but Peter Stimpson (5 for 41) and Martin Hewitson (5-51) then scythed through the innings and had Heslington all out for 114.
Earswick moved easily to a five wicket win as Andy Freeman made 35 and Andrew James 36.
