Poppleton are still very much in the hunt for the Tyke Petroleum Men's Tennis League division one title.
They thrashed Wigginton 85-23 with Alex Moore and Paul Turnbull collecting 23 games.
That narrowed the gap on leaders Dunnington to four points with two matches in hand.
Wigginton bounced back to beat Rowntree Park 55-53 to hold on to third place. The rest of the division one programme was washed out.
Sutton upon Derwent virtually sealed promotion in the second division after defeating Sherburn 78-30 while Riccall kept their faint hopes alive with a 66-42 victory at Poppleton with Rex Pocklington and Terry Knowles winning 24 games. Poppleton's third pair, Tony Cantrell and Guy Fowles, scored half their total.
Despite beating Copmanthorpe 55-53, Castlegarth were relegated.
Wheldrake, with one match left to play, moved to the top of the third division after winning 51-47 at Dunnington II where Mark Bland and George Tattersall scored 28.
Appleton Roebuck, with a match in hand in second place, scored 20 in the third rubber to beat Cawood 58-50.
Boston Spa, eight down after the first rubber beat second placed Castlegarth II 56-52 to clinch the fourth division championship.
Castlegarth can now be caught by Wigginton II who beat Heworth 69-39. Andy Walker and Stuart Langley scored 27 despite losing 7-5 to Heworth's top couple Alan Bradshaw and Ron Barnett.
In the battle at the bottom, Strensall II beat Appleton Roebuck II 62-46 with Steve Raine and Mark Sturdy scoring 22.
The only match in division five saw Rufforth enjoy a 60-48 win over Riccall II with Andy Ivel and David Laws winning 22 games. Knaresborough and Selby go up.
Division six leaders Wheldrake II were soundly beaten 74-34 by Starbeck who lost only once 7-5. Bishopthorpe's John Fitch and David Moore scored 31 of their 58 games against New Earswick II.
