York eased up the Oxbridge ECB Yorkshire Premier League table prevailing over Hull at Clifton Park yesterday to follow the 130-run beating of Barnsley.
After yet another hesitant start in which they lost Simon Mason and Nick Kay with a single run between them Michael Mortimer (17) and Andrew Kay (29) took the score to 49 for 2 before Mortimer was caught in the 14th over.
Kay followed three overs later without addition to the score before Nash Stone and Rob Flack enjoyed a 61-run partnership when Stone was given out lbw at 120-4 in the 33rd over.
Marcus Wood, benefiting from batting at number six, continued York's recovery with a 64-run partnership with Richard Gilbert, who made an encouraging contribution before he was run out two short of a half century.
Wood, who was also run out, went on to add 74 to the unbeaten 73 he made at Barnsley.
York closed on 219 for 9 and Hull made a decent effort to get them despite an excellent return of 4 for 31 from Mortimer.
They fell 12 short of victory, opener Andy Simpson scoring 76 with his skipper, Dave Page and Ian Haller both making 30s..
In what had been billed as a possible championship decider, champions Sheffield Collegiate beat Harrogate by four wickets.
Richard Kettleborough scored 90no following the 6 for 69 burst from off-spinner John Hespe to pin Harrogate down to 186-9.
Harrogate captain John Proud was their highest scorer with 41.
Scarborough batted badly in response to Cleethorpes' total of 184 for 9.
Chris Clifford regained his old form with an off-spin return of 5 for 47, but Scarborough plunged to 110 all out.
