Hornsea require just three points from their final three games to ensure promotion from division three after sending Osbaldwick II to certain relegation.

Osbaldwick were dismissed for 111 by Jonathan Fisher (5-24) and Paul Clappison's unbeaten 65 took Hornsea to an eight-wicket win.

Hornsea will be staging the only Darren Gough Benefit game in the county next Friday and are hoping a big crowd will turn up at the Hollis Recreation Ground to support the popular Tyke.

Malton & Old Malton maintained their drive for promotion with a 29 point 97-run win over Bolton Percy.

Lester Parkin hit 75 and Greg Johnson 53 as Malton made 189 all out against Nick Lister (5-64) and Alistair Rigby (4-67).

Bolton were then bowled out for 92 by Wayne Dawson (3-28) and Shaun Bonser (3-30).

One of the best all-round displays of the season by Hovingham's Stuart Prest ensured his side sustained the pressure on Malton by beating Selby by 68 runs.

After Mark Aconley had fallen for 40, Prest was joined by Phil Ryan in a 124 second wicket stand which ended when Ryan fell for 57, leaving Prest to progress to 108 not out before Hovingham declared after 42 overs on 230 for 3.

Prest then took 5 for 17 to leave Selby all out for 162. For the losers, Ian Lake made 27, Steve Whisker 26 and Ben Smith 26.

There was a closely fought game at Heslington where the hosts were dismissed three runs short of Londesbrough Park's 148 all out.

John Williamson made 80 for Park as Paul Raper and John Thornton each claimed three wickets. Mark Fratson responded with 43 but Phil Curtis took 7 for 51 to dismiss Heslington for 145.

Two relegation haunted sides met at Heworth where a seven-wicket defeat for the hosts means they are now only eight points ahead of their conquerors, Cawood, who are in the third relagation slot.

Nigel Bartram took 3 for 19 as Heworth struggled to 103 for 9 with James Ulliott being not out 29. Stuart Baxter guided Cawood to victory with an unbeaten 63.

Russ Bilton, playing for Wood-house Grange II as a batsman due to an injury preventing him from bowling, made 77 to set up his side's 12 run win at New Earswick.

Paul Stimpson took 3 for 54 for the hosts then saw team-mates Kev Barker (63) and Mark Benson (31) both bat well but to no avail as Earswick's promotion hopes nose-dived as they were all out for 168.
