Division two leaders Hull Zingari strolled to a nine-wicket win over relegation threatened Clifton Alliance and now need just 17 points to gain promotion at the first attempt.

Clifton only reached 111 for 7 in their allotted overs as Andy Hamson took 3 for 10 despite an unbeaten 56 from Syd Corley. Mick Knowles then made 55 not out as Hull coasted home.

Goole Town are strong favourites for the runners-up spot and a quick return to division one after beating Bubwith by seven wickets.

Gary Moore and Neil Readman both made 35 as Bubwith struggled to 139 for 8 against another econo-mical spell by Dave England (3-67).

Paul Wainwright (4-36) and Mick Bourke (4-50) troubled the Service batsmen but Alex Livie (63no) helped Service to 168 for 8.

Wainwright then added 26 and Anthony Danielss 25 but Mick Bradley maintained his 'Indian Summer' season with 5 for 48 to dismiss the Cas side for 115.

Mille Crux was another ground which saw 20 wickets fall, as hosts Nestle Rowntree lost to Harrogate by 30 runs despite an impressive display by Paul Horner, who took 5 for 38 and made 50.

Ex-Killinghall player Tom Durrance top-scored for Harrogate with 41 while Ross Kneller made 29 and 15-year-old Andrew Taylor 25 as 'Gate were all out for 136.

Horner made his 50 off just 55 balls but the telling performance came from Peter Kippax whose 5 for 34 proved decisive as Rown-trees collapsed to 106 all out.

Despite getting the better of a draw with Whitkirk, Scarborough's promotion challenge is wilting.
