LIFEBOATS rescued two stricken yachts off the Yorkshire coast yesterday.

One ran aground below the cliffs at Bempton, resulting in the crew of three being rescued in a joint operation by Flamborough and Filey lifeboats, while at Whitby, a 30ft cutter lost its engine and had to be escorted back to the port by the Whitby lifeboat.
