Desert Orchid, Jodami and Uncle Ernie will be making guest appearances at Beverley's bumper eight-race programme tomorrow, courtesy of the Malton Racing Association.
Although their seventh annual stables' open day, due to be held tomorrow, was cancelled because of concerns over foot and mouth, the MRA will still be strongly represented at Beverley, where they had planned to stage their afternoon programme for the first time.
Apart from the three star steeplechasers of yesteryear, who will be parading during the afternoon, the MRA will have a race named in their honour, a mile-and-a-half handicap, which has attracted a competitive field.
Honours, fittingly, could well fall to Tim Easterby, a member of the MRA, who saddles Bollin Thomas, twice a previous course winner this season.
The Great Habton trainer has good prospects throughout the afternoon, as he also has a fine chance with Cumbrian Harmony (1-55) and with Chantilly Myth in the featured £10,000 John Smith's Nursery.
A Thirsk winner on her latest outing, Chantilly Myth has not got the best of draws in stall three, but she is taken to come out on top and is marginally preferred to her better-drawn stablemate Daisy Buttons.
Mick Easterby - Tim's uncle - provides the nap selection in the shape of Johnson's Point in the Desert Orchid Parades Today Fillies' Handicap.
A winner over this course earlier in the summer, Johnson's Point looked sure to gain a repeat victory on her latest visit but, after forging clear more than a furlong out, was nailed in the dying strides. Compensation awaits her tomorrow.
Stunning Force, an unlucky loser at Newcastle on his debut, can get the better of Tim Easterby's likewise promising Bollin Eric in the EBF Beverley Lions Median Auction Maiden Stakes.
At Goodwood, Gossamer is expected to prove hard to beat in the £40,000 Touchdown In Malaysia Prestige Stakes.
Luca Cumani's filly created a good impression when scoring on her debut at Newmarket last month and looks an exciting prospect. Jamie Spencer has the mount.
Mary Reveley sends the in-form Whistling Dixie to Sussex to contest the Motoring & Leisure Magazine Handicap and the Peter Savill-owned gelding is fancied to gain his fouth win on the bounce.
Top-notch apprentice Jamie Mackay has been booked to take the ride on the Cleveland raider.
Also worth noting are the hat-trick seeking Zulfaa (2-45) and the hardy veteran Stoppes Brow (4-50).
At Yarmouth, Columbine should not be overlooked in the Lowesoft Journal Handicap.
Alan Berry's sprinter has run a couple of good races in defeat recently and is overdue a win.
