BAY Horse clinched the York Maxiprint League division one championship beating Cygnet 7-2, which included a magnificent 180 for 12 darts from Paul Cooper.

Simon Craven's 19 darter, Andy Lawson's splendid 17 darts and 19 from Allen Galley saw Bay Horse take all the singles. Cygnet's response came with the last two pairs through Steve Lane and John Miller.

Mitre, with Dave Binks shining, are almost assured the runners-up spot after a 6-3 win at Pack, whose Ken Smith was in 21 dart form.

A 17 darter from Paul Botterill set Volunteer on their way. Clifton battled back to level but Mark Fratson and Darren Gray combined to take the match. Further good scores from Botterill secured the aggregate point.

Slipper were 5-4 victors over Acomb, whose Mick Ward closed in 20 darts while Slipper's Russ Turpin notched a maximum.

Division two leaders Bishopthorpe had Arthur Conyers (21) and Tony Raymone (180) in good form, but they had to wait until the decider to take a 5-4 win over Huntington, whose Dave Brigham scored well to save the aggregate point.

Clifton 'B' closed the gap with a 6-3 win against Leeman, whose only singles success was Ken Stockell.

Palace slayed Reindeer 7-2 while Ebor took all the pairs to run out 6-3 winners against Burton. Phil Good shot out on 111 as Six Bells were demolished by Crescent.

Howden Arms, the division three leaders, overcame strong opposition from Gimcrack, while Woolpack moved into second spot.

Huntington took all the singles with R Smith leading the way while Winning Post beat Bay Horse 'B' 6-3.

Mick Mitchell and Mike Kearney were last game match winners for Mount, but good scores from Jo Holder saved Indoor Bowls the aggregate point.

Dringhouses were looking good in their York John Smith's Men's League match against Trafalgar with wins from Mick Coupland, Barry Noble (20) and Peter Langan.

But a fantastic 180 for 13 darts from Paul Keers tipped the scales Trafalgar's way. Rich Plummer included a maximum and Richard Stevenson weighed in with a bullseye finish as Trafalgar won 6-3.

Division one champions Shepherd 'A' kept a clean sheet against Saddle as John Dykes recorded 19 darts and Mark Jones checked on bull.

Shepherd 'B' opened with 17 darts against Poacher from Alan Yates. Steve Keenaghan shot 180 but Poacher won 7-2 with Ray McInally storming out in 16 darts then a 180.

Phil Derbyshire threw a splendid 17 darts for Yearsley Grove but Holgate WMC came on strong as Derrick Hudson and Pete West sealed a 5-4 win.

Barry Houlden (Groves) surprised the division two champions, Horseman, wi-th an opening 20 darter but 180 for 18 darts from Paul Barnett put Horseman on track for a 6-3 victory.

Graham Quinn and Barry McLaughlin sealed Swan's match at Green Tree 'A' and Sun 'A' snatched a 5-4 over Flag with a bull -heck from captain Ian Cryle, partnering Tony Gregory.

Steve Humberstone, Adrian Gray then Paul Mahoney put Institute 'B' in to a 3-0 lead but Slip signed in for the remainder. Ted Bone and Paul Whitehead took Vaults' winner against Institute 'A'.

Cygnet 'B' team's captain Ian Hartley included 180 in a 6-3 victory over Sun 'B'.
