RESIDENTS are to have the opportunity to quiz council officials about how they dealt with last autumn's floods and their aftermath.
An open forum is being held next month to respond to specific issues raised by people affected by the floods along the River Aire and the Lower Derwent.
East Riding communities which were badly hit include Stamford Bridge and Snaith.
The event, organised by East Riding of Yorkshire Council, takes place at Snaith School, in Pontefract Road, on Thursday, September 20, at 7pm. It will be chaired by representatives of the council's environment review and scrutiny committee.
The authority is circulating a leaflet about the forum.
Alternatively, the questions or comments can be sent to committee manager Dave Palmer by fax on 01482 393269 or by email to:
david.palmer@eastriding.gov.uk
The council can be contacted on 0345 887700 between 8am and 2am to report a flooding incident. In a major flood or other emergency, a 24-hour response line will be set up and operated through the council's customer services centre network. During the working day, the council's operational services department can be contacted directly on 0845 600 1666 if assistance is required.
