Here's your chance to live on a farm without having to go within sniffing distance of those filthy, smelly old animal things.
Hogg the Builder (that's Hogg, not hog) has transformed Sycamore Farm in Strensall into a development of five top-of-the-range properties in a courtyard setting. And two of them, Sycamore Farm (the original farmhouse) and The Barn, are now being offered by Stephensons (01904 625533) for £295,000 and £197,500 respectively.
The first has a lounge with a beamed ceiling, a dining room, a utility room, a bathroom with a Victorian-style suite, four bedrooms, two of which have en-suite shower rooms, and a huge L-shaped dining kitchen with a built-in oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher.
It also has an attached double garage with remote control shutter doors, an ornamental paved sun patio and an enclosed back garden with a shaped lawn and mature hawthorn hedging.
The second of our faux farm offerings has a cloakroom with WC, a lounge with a feature fireplace, a dining room (which could easily be converted into a study or bedroom), two bathrooms, two double bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite shower room, and a farmhouse-style kitchen with a good range of built-in appliances.
The Barn also has a double-width gravelled parking area, an attached garage and a small patch of easily-maintained garden. It may not exactly have rolling acres, but at least there's no mucking out.
