Dunnington stayed on course in Tyke Petroleum Men's League division one with a healthy 80-28 win over Knaresborough, who could field only two pairs.
Civil Service lost 59-49 to York and dropped to bottom place but with two matches in hand they can still get out of trouble. York's Howard Pallister and Jamie Moore top scored with 23.
Sutton-on-Derwent's 72-36 win at Poppleton II made them firm favourites for division one next year.
Poppleton, in third place, have a match in hand over Strensall, who beat Sherburn 75-33, but Poppleton's last match is against the powerful Sutton side.
Strensall's new pairing of Peter Simpson and Chris Evans provided 24 games but Matt Ward and Jeremy Williams were the best performers with 29.
Riccall's chances of promotion faded with a heavy 72-36 defeat at Copmanthorpe whose Graeme Butcher and Carl Addison scored 25.
York II finished their programme by beating Castlegarth 65-43 to stay up with Castlegarth. John Logan and Nick Robinson scored 27 games.
Castlegarth II were the only team in the promotion race in division four who played - and they won 79-29 against strugglers Strensall II. Doug Crawford and Doug Harrison were top scorers with 29.
New Earswick probably made their position safe by beating Heworth 57-51. Heworth took 20 games in the final round.
Division five leaders Knaresborough II marched on with a 62-46 win at Riccall II. Third place Cliffe ended their programme beating Dunnington III 67-41. Dunnington conceded 12 games due to injury.
Wheldrake II stayed in second place on equal points at the top of division six but lost ground when they lost 43-65 to Sheriff Hutton. Ted Marsden and Daniel Cleather top scored with 26.
Nestl beat Starbeck 58-52 in a result depending on the last match which Dale and Luke Pollard won 7-5 for Nestl.
