Stillington's Mohammed Hafeez became the first player to reach 1,000 runs when he hit his fifth division one century of the season.
Hafeez and opening partner Paul Mosey took the York bowlers apart as they raced to 151 in 26 overs before Mosey fell for 42. Hafeez rattled up an unbeaten 127 out of 260-5.
York's batsmen responded well, Andrew Kay making 71 and Brendan O'Donovan 30. Marcus Bellerby threatened to pull off an unlikely victory by hitting six sixes in his 52 but York had to settle for a draw at 230-6.
The top two sides met at Pocklington, where the hosts were able to reduce the gap to 28 points when they had the better of a draw with Beverley Town.
Pocklington's score of 217-7 owed much to a second wicket partner-ship of 115 between Dave O'Gram (76) and Rod Hinch, whose 59 was his fifth half century of the year.
Shaun Lightowler turned in a good bowling spell for Beverley which earned him 4 for 57. After the break Jamie Mitchell made 47 and Peter Parnaby 28 but Rich Foster with 3-41, pegged the leaders to 164-6.
Crayke's Mike Hutchinson produced his best performance in the league when he captured 8 for 64 in 22.2 overs to dismiss Stamford Bridge for 160.
For Stamford, John Hetherton junior made 46 on his first team debut after some good displays in the second XI.
Neil Porteous then hit back with 4 for 35 but Graeme Dawson made 50 before Gareth Graham hit an unbeaten 56 to seal Crayke's five-wicket victory.
Driffield eased into a mid-table position with a three-wicket win at Dringhouses which was set up by Simon Lazenby's 7-63. John Crowe made 40 and Andy Kenyon 25 in Dringhouses' 168-9.
Driffield's reply was led by Phil Woodcock who made 67 with Mark Tennant supporting with 31.
Batsmen struggled at Duncombe Park where both sides were bowled out as Park won a relegation battle with Wilberfoss by 22 runs.
Only Peter Humpleby (33) made any impression as the home side were dismissed for 126 by Kev Davison 3-24 and Mike Stothard 4-29.
Stothard then followed with 43 but had no assistance as Paul Wilkie took 4 for 35, Peter Richardson 3 for 20 and Danny Luck 3 for 7.
