THE lucky numbers came up for Huntington pensioner Paddy O'Donnell when he entered a hi-tech bingo game at his local working men's club.

Paddy, aged 62, scooped the £5,000 jackpot playing the National Flyer Link game at Huntington Working Men's Club, where he has worked as club steward for 17 years.

His big win came during one of the first runs of the game, which took place on Thursday evening.

Paddy, who lives with his wife, Barbara, said: "It hasn't really sunk in yet. "I think we're going to put the money in the bank and wait until retirement to spend it on something really nice."

The National Flyer game, developed by Carousel Leisure (UK) Ltd, is being played this summer across the country in working men's clubs which are all linked by satellite TV.

The next draw is at 1pm tomorrow at all networked working men's clubs.
