TRAIN services in and out of York were delayed after a man was struck and killed on the East Coast Main Line near Thirsk.
The incident happened at 4.10pm yesterday afternoon, when a freight train hit the man at Pilmoor, causing the line to be closed for more than an hour. Some passenger trains were delayed for half an hour.
The coroner has been informed, and investigations were under way to identify the man.
