YORK-based VST Comreco Rail is to provide two train planning systems for Chiltern Railways.
The two scheduling systems, TrainPlan and ResourcePlan, will be used to plan trains, together with associated vehicle and crew schedules.
Both firms believe the move will increase Chiltern Railways' efficiency in the planning process.
The Chiltern network runs rail services between London Marylebone Station, Birmingham Snow Hill and Aylesbury, via Amersham.
The deal represents another major landmark for VST Comreco, whose York base is in Blossom Street.
ScotRail has used both systems since 1998, and the firm says it is now looking to strengthen its relationship with other train operators.
