Yapham bowlers John Flint and Trevor Walker set up a nine wicket win for the division four pace-setters when they combined to dismiss Dringhouses for 77.

Flint took 5 for 16 in 11 overs and Walker 4 for 35 in 20.2 overs.

Walker followed with an unbeaten 46 and, with Dick Wright making 24 not out, Yapham raced to victory in just 17 overs.

Huby's five-wicket win over Thirsk kept their hopes of clinching the solitary promotion place alive.

Thirsk were only able to make 129 for 7. Huby's reply was fronted by Wayne Howell who made 48 and Tom Piercy whose 33 helped his side gain their tenth win of the season.

Acomb's Dave Stroughair, with 5 for 31, and Andy Thrall (4 for 24) demolished Thorp Arch & Boston Spa for 75. Paul Hughes (40no) and Leon Sachs (31no) saw their side to a nine-wicket win.

Huntington's Steve Beales kept his name at the top of the leading wicket-takers chart with 6 for 64 as he and Wally Baynes (3 for 53) pegged Easingwold to 118 for 9. Huntington were then taken to a four wicket victory by Brian Pudsey (43) and Baynes 26.

Ten-man Sheriff Hutton dismissed Dunnington for 125 but were out themselves for just 72.

Dunnington's Darren Avey used his premier division experience to counter the bowling of Richard Armitage who took 5 for 35 in 22 overs and provided the backbone for his side as he made 26 not out. Sheriff's batsmen then fared badly as Steve Whittaker captured 4 for 25 and Adam Holroyd 4 for 32.

Sheriff Hutton Bridge had an advantage draw over Carlton Towers. Teenager Duncan Snell led the Bridge's batting with 84 while Chris Walls made 38 and Richard Brook an unbeaten 29. Trevor Boddye, with 4 for 80, was the best bowler for Carlton who were never in danger of defeat as Stephen Watson (61) and Neil Robinson, who made 66 not out, guided them to a comfortable draw at 165 for 6.
