The champagne is on ice at Pickering after their latest division five victory at the expense of Rowntrees left them 37 points ahead of second-placed Sessay with two games in hand.
Pickering reached 200 for 6 in 38 overs after Will Burns had a purple patch as he claimed three early wickets to reduce Pickering to 24 for 3.
However Kevin Wilson added 90 runs for the fourth wicket with Ian Johnson (37). Wilson was eventually trapped lbw for 76 but Stuart Brown (39no) and skipper Andrew Grayson took the score to 200.
Rowntrees then made a disastrous start as they lost their first three wickets for only two runs and were 37 for 7 until wickets continued to tumble regularly as Phil Grayson (38) and Paul Harrison (15) added 59 for the eighth wicket but the innings folded at 106.
There was a real thriller at Bolton Percy where Selby were involved in a high scoring tie after losing their final wicket when going for a winning second run off the final delivery.
Bolton Percy totalled 206 for 4 with Andrew Curtis (28), James Hodge (45) and Gary Dale (27) paving the way for an unbroken partnership between Colin Thacker (50no) and John Lawrenson (28no).
Graham Spence headed Selby's reply with 73 but Dan White's 4 for 71 for Bolton helped to set up the thrilling finale which saw Selby's last man run out off the final delivery when Gary Dale and James Hodge combined to thwart an attempt at a second run, leaving Selby all out for 206.
Cawood skipper Bob Paddison made 43 as he and Miles Taylor (40) earned an eight-wicket win over bottom-placed Heslington whose A Webb had made 45 in their 121 for 8.
Malton & Old Malton beat New Earswick, whose James Routledge claimed 6 for 52 in Malton's 174. Top scorers were Chris Smith (42) and Jim Dawson (39no).
Earswick's Richard Atkin made 39, but three wickets each for David Bradshaw and Jim Dawson had Earswick out for 106.
Sessay's hopes of promotion suffered a fatal setback when they were bowled out for 100 at Pocklington who went on to win by seven wickets, Adam Thomas hitting an unbeaten 66. Richard Williman took 4 for 31 for Pock.
Andy Winfield took 5 for 12 as Civil Service were bowled out for 75 at Stamford Bridge then Dave Chaplin made 27 not out as the home side coasted to an eight wicket win.
Stillington beat Hovingham by 71 runs. Ben Drummond (53), Stuart Perrin (40) and Dennis North (26) starred in Stillington's 188 for 9 despite Mark Hemmingway's 4 for 98.
Rich Wood then resisted for Hovingham with 36 not out but Dave Linton (3 for 44) and John Milburn (3 for 20) have Hovingham all out for 117.
